| Conspiracy theory, here, but do you think the reason is that the major carriers want to punish the AirTrans and the JetBlues that allow larger carry-ons? I can see them using the government to restrict their competition from making their planes more comfortable, or easier. | |

| Government should stay out of this, but...........
In my recent travels I had to fly on 4 airplanes. On each flight the problem was storage for carry-on bags. Each time the last 2 or 3 passengers along with flight attendants went front to back several times trying to find space overhead to put the bags. each time, someone (including myself) offered to put their own bag on the floor between or feet so the larger bags could be stored.
The airlines charging more to check bags have forced folks to "carry-on" their luggage. You're allowed two bags and there just isn't enough room.
