What do you think about organizing a protest/demonstration on May 1 (May Day), traditionally the day to celebrate Marxism/socialism?

I think that as long as it could be done in a way that there is NO DOUBT who we are and what we represent, it would be a good idea. I am planning on purchasing some more gadsden and culpeper flags for just such an event. There's alot to be done here though in terms of polishing everything up, and getting people lined up to participate in things like this. We could go stand somewhere with two signs and four people, but we'd make a bigger statement with 50 or 100. The way things are going right now, I don't think it will take long before this board and group has many, many members in GA.

Keep the ideas comin'. . . I'm lovin it.

Ok, like i was sayin' - I've got a Gadsden flag, and I can get a culpeper( the white one with the gadsden motto and also "Liberty or Death" on it). If we can get some people together, let's plan on doing this. We've got a little time to organize it. We need to decide where we're doing it, if we need permits etc. and how to let the media know what's going on. I'll set up a thread on it this week, and then start spreading the word.

....and don't forget guys, that the few people that are here now are probably going to be the major force for getting this thing started. If you'd like to go on any message boards you are on where people might want to join us - esp. boards like GON, NGTO, or any other local boards and put up a little post feel free to do so. If you need help in what you should post, I'm sure I can come up with a passionate plea, or Wilder here can come up with something a little more sensible. I think most of us can write our own stuff....but we just want to make sure we're clear in the message of what we're about - and in this case, of what we'll be protesting....

I cannot wait to make a sign that says "The winds of socialism have fueled the fires of Liberty!" or something shorter maybe. haha.

I was wondering the other day if the protest last week on the capitol - if they had to get some sort of permit. ( Instict tells me to say to heck with it, but I'd rather not run into legal troubles on our first attempt. haha)

Also, you guys know I hate Atlanta. HATE IT. if there is some other place where we would be able to get some news coverage, i'd be all for that. But if we can fill up the park in front of the CNN building, then so be it. Of course, they'll portray us all as radical vast-right-wing-whackos, but what else is new.

is this going to go?
any more talk on it?

You know the illegal immigrant activist will probably march then too if they
don't get scared back like last year.

It could get ugly if held in a closer proximity.

I can't say that I studied this thoroughly but from what I have learned so far, I think I would pass on a May Day protest. The worse thing anyone can do is have a failed protest for that is what the liberal media is waiting for.

I.e. May 16th storyline in AJC [size=18]May Day March Shows Tea Party was a Flash in the Pan that has Fizzled

There is an unwritten rule when dealing with the media whcih says, to every extent possible, always know what the story will be in advance.

I can't find any information on other protests for May day. To go it alone could have unintended results. You may even be mistaken for some other protest that is pro-socialists or pro open-borders.

There is a critical mass that is required for a protest to weork and below that, you look like keystone cops.
