Yes Springer it is scary. I don't know of anything that will have the impact on us that this will, and unfortunately, with our current political climate, I don't see anyway to turn the muslim explosion around.

I am sorry but I have come to the conclusion that we have a two-bit thug in the Oval office. He is a member of a class of people, though they geographically live in America, cannot be regarded as American. Nor does he want to identify as American. His wench even admitted she was ashamed to be American ALL her life and only found this country worthy of her when it nominated her man for the presidency. Why would they seek the highest office of a country they hated?

Unfortunately, we are to blame! We've been complacent, and like the frog in the boiling water, they've turned up the heat, gradually, ever since Teddy Roosevelt (I hate that, because I really liked him until I realized the path he took this country down); and we just weren't paying attention.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, a wake-up call from God, to get us back on the right track. I'm hoping and praying that right-thinking people have been roused from their stupor, as I have been, and are willing to do whatever it takes to reclaim this country. As I read the stories of the founding fathers, I realize the sacrifices these people were willing to make, and I'm ashamed of myself. I hope when I see them in heaven (BIG assumption for me!) I can say, "I carried on in your tradition, and I didn't let your sacrifices be in vain."

An excellent read for you might be Jonah Goldberg's "Fascist Liberalism". I just finished it. He traces the path of leftist influence from Mussolini to Obama with meticulous detail.

Donna, I am not going to take issue because I understand your point but I have never been complacent. I started reading Rand at 14 and have been a royal pain in the butt to anyone who would listen, ever since. I have been called everything from Chicken Little to Joe McCarthy. I have written hundreds of letters to editors and donated more than I should have to too many lame conservatives. But I have largely been a lone wolf.

I never have considered what I have done, including my 20 years of military service, a sacrifice. A sacrifice is an exchange of a greater value to a lesser value. I don't believe in sacrifice. I trade up!

I totally agree! I suppose I didn't express myself very well, because what I meant was I wasn't watching for the signs of creeping socialism. fascism. With a husband in the Navy and 6 kids to raise, there's not much time for pondering the political situation.

I'm sure the founders didn't consider what they did as "sacrifice" either; and like all who serve this country, as you and Pete did, it's something that used to be ingrained--it was our duty as citizens of this incredible country to go where the country called.

I'm almost finished with the 5000 Year Leap and have started on The Real George Washington; and I actually come to tears when I see the beauty of "the plan" these tremendous heroes gave us, their progeny. Sadly, too many don't have a clue; and I'm just amazed Barack Obama can call himself a "constitutional" anything--professor/lawyer, whatever. If he ever even read this, almost sacred, document and then to go on and pervert it as he has is inconceivable. It's almost as though he studied it just in order to destroy it!

Pete and I had to go to Lawrenceville today, and I was reading the George Washington book. I rhetorically asked Pete, "Where are the heroes in our government today?" There just do not appear to be any... Washington was almost like a god, and he could have been crowned king if he had so wished; but, instead, he was a reluctant hero.

Sorry to prattle on so, but the more I learn (better late than never), the more frustrated I become...what can we do? What can we do?

Yes, you can embed, but you have to have the right link or something like that. I'll try to look into it, but if it doesn't work, try using one of the different links youtube gives you and using the little video film strip icon above(where you post) and that should work. I just can't remember which little tweak you have to give it.
