Maybe this is already out there. I haven't checked.
How about a website where everyone can keep up with exacly how much taxes they pay a year. It would take some work, but you'd just have to log in and input the tax (probably need to break it down into federal and state). At the end of the year, I'm sure there would be some people who have their eyes opened a bit.

That is an excellent idea! It would take more code skill than I have to pull it off, but it doesn't sound like it would be too hard to do. I'll check into that. I have no doubt that you're right and some folks would be blown away. Add in state sales tax and property tax. whew.
