Tax Day Tea Party and Pro-America Rally INFORMATION THREAD - PLEASE READ!

Below you will find everything you need to know about the rally. If I leave something out, let me know or feel free to fill in the missing info it you like.



Tea Party and Liberty Rally
Gainesville, GA Downtown
April 15th 2009 ( Tax Day!)
Poultry Park, Jesse Jewell Parkway and W. Academy St.

4PM to 6PM


Please do not bring the following:

* Rebel Flags( explained in another thread...)
* SIGNS ON POLES ( city permit prohibited, now apparently) I will ask about flag poles...
* fireworks
* Bull horns or other sound amplifying device( city permit prohibited)
* Signs, clothes, hats etc. with foul language ( there will be children at this rally - I know you guys are angry and so am I, but let's keep it clean shall we? I don't think this will be a problem, but I'm throwing it out there just in case)


Please do bring:

* American flags and Georgia Flags
*Gadsden or Culpeper Flags
* Pro-liberty and Pro-American signs ( including things like " NO MORE BAILOUTS", WE HATE SOCIALISM" etc. which are as pro-American as anything else...don't let my little suggestions as to what to bring curb your tongue as long as it's decent and on-point. The time for being nice has passed, friends.)
* water/something to drink
* comfortable shoes!
* a respect for your fellow countrymen and law enforcement officers/city officials
* civility toward any counter-protestors( YES, there could be someone there protesting the fact that you are standing up for their right to ...well, protest us. . . but let's be nice to them....and then tell the nearest officer that they are not part of our group and are causing trouble among our Pro-America attendees. )
* a heart and mind that is bold and not ashamed to make a stand for liberty
* a wave and a smile for all the people who will be passing by




A further word about counter-protestors:

Some years ago when there were demonstrations in CA and NY and other places, a group of patriots called " Protest Warrior" got together people from all over the country, and infiltrated the protests. They held up sarcastic signs( in some cases) and signs you could have seen at any anti-war rally across the nation by groups like MoveOn.org and CodePink. These people were using humor and irony/sarcasm to hit home and really show what the leftists were all about.

The same thing may happen to us. I'm not really expecting it in Gainesville - it's more likely to occur in the larger Rallies, but if it does happen I would like for you to find the nearest police officer and let them know that there is someone who is not with LibertyCalls.org, and that there presence in the midst of our rally is causing problems.


Our permit is for a Pro-America Liberty Rally. Anyone with a sign that runs counter to that sentiment does not belong with us, and does not have a permit to rally as far as I'm concerned. I am going to also let the police and city know that there may be counter protestors. I do not want to shut them up, however. I just do not want them to be associated with the patriots who are standing up for liberty. There has been word from some undercover folks here at LC.org that some of the liberal websites are plotting to make us look like racists or worse. Don't give them the chance. Be firm, but do not violate their rights. Just talk to an officer and have them removed from our location.

This is all in theory - until I talk to the Chief of Police. But for now, go with this advice please. They have the right to speak their mind, but as far as I'm concerned not on property where we have a permit to gather. I'll let you know what the response is to this situation from the Chief of Police as soon as I hear from them on it. ( I have emailed the Chief of Police now and will edit this paragraph if needed when I hear back from him - I also asked about flag poles)


Rules per the city permit:

No signs on poles.
Watch out for children under 16( safety)
Remain 20-25 feet from entrance and exit points of traffic ( we'll see how this works when we see what size crowd shows up! the park has streets on all sides)
Do not rally in or on the streets or roadways
Remain on the public sidewalk( although we have been cleared by Parks and Rec. and the PD to be in the grassy area in the park itself)




Lastly, I haven't heard from anyone about volunteering to help my wife and I clean up after the rally. It shouldn't take long and we're going to walk over to Ihop afterwards to eat. Anyone?

Gainesville Police Chief Hooper has informed me that anyone causing trouble and not with our group may be asked to leave the Rally.


If you see someone causing trouble, holding a sign that is intended to tarnish our image to the media, etc. etc. etc. DO NOT HESITATE to report them to the nearest Officer and ask that they be removed from our permitted area. I do not think this will be a problem, but then again I wouldn't put anything past a leftist. If you cannot find an Officer, notify someone with LibertyCalls.org and you can enjoy the rally while we locate an officer to have them removed.


If you are a leftist, socialist traitor and you are reading this post, you should know that what we are doing is STANDING UP FOR YOUR LIBERTY....which you may freely exercise anywhere you like, except at our rally. In other words, get your own permit, hippie. LOL

and just as a reminder, this is a public gathering so you may not carry open or pack unless you are an LEO.

Thanks for organizing this march. We were thinking of going to Gainesville on the 15th since I work right down the road but decided we want to be park of the "Bug Show". I was wondering who organized this one and now I know.

Though I have some trepidations about going into Atlanta with my wife and a friend, I want to help beef up the numbers and visibility for the press. Besides the local news, I am sure Fox will cover the event. Having Hannity there doesn't hurt.

I want trillions of people to come out and be counted. I want to put the fear of Jesus in that Paper Hanger that never should have made it to the Whitehouse.

I think there were about 3 leftists that showed up and they were quickly told to "beat it" or something like that...by the Gainesville PD. THank you, men and women in Blue.
