| Looks like they are giving it to the elderly again. http://finance.yahoo.com/focus-retirement/article/106849/Recession-Hits-Social-Security-Increases?mod=fidelity-livingretirementSure, we can't raise your SS benefits, but we can definitely make sure Congress gets their raise! Ticks me off to no end. The kicker on this one though....they are saying that inflation will be at an all time low. How the heck is that going to happen with them spending all of this money they don't have? Totally contradictory. They always fudge the inflation data they give out just so they don't have to raise the SS payouts. Let's see....forcefully take someones money, promise they'll get it back when they are older and need it, trick them into relying on the money, fail to give them what they really need. Sounds about right for the crooks that run out government. | |

| Yep, Mark Twain once spoke of lies. Said there were lies, damn lies, and statistics. Charlie Reese got it right when he said, "Politicians are the only people on earth with the gall to create problems and then campaign against them. All your life you've heard each administration state the need for "Education Reform." It will never happen, because once the Thundering Herd understands Political Science, the sun will set for the con game of politicians. America transitioned from wilderness to World Power, not because of government, but despite it. I don't know where this is all headed folks, but I can tell you this. Those of us who have always done for ourselves, without the crutch of government or its welfare, will be the last ones standing. I'd say you could take that to the bank, but it'll be too late for doing so. We of this camp, then, need to pull together, as we watch each other's back. | |

| I had a car accident in '99, and am disabled drawing dis-ssi. I've turned away from 2 check offers, but this one is going to direct deposit. I could sure use it, but it's not in the budget, and I know one day someone will still be paying for it. I think the tax cut of a few dollars, and this is to take people away from the big budget coverage, and play on greed. It ain't gonna work here with me. Something good will be done with the $250 Donations will go out soon to the opposing cause, this being one of them What do you guys think, especially people still paying payroll tax? | |

| I'm just sick! DH and I are both SS recipients, by virtue of being "old," and yesterday we got a message from our benevolent dictator telling us he's sending us $250 apiece. Honestly, it begins, on the very first line: "Good news! The economic recovery bill that President Obama signed into law....provides a one-time payment of $250 to Social Security and Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries." I'd be shooting off a letter to The Times to remind folks that Obama isn't giving them ANYTHING, that it's all coming out of the pockets/paychecks of their children and grandchildren, right now. They need to know Social Security is broke; the lock box is empty, and at this point, it's pay as you go. Anyway, I just wrote them a letter, after the Tea Party, and they published it; so I don't think they'll take another one from me, again, this soon. If there's anyone out there who's in the same situation, I would urge you to write a letter to the editor reminding them Obama hasn't GIVEN them anything; for gosh sakes the man's never actually earned an honest paycheck, how's he going to GIVE them anything???? Arrrrrgg | |

| This kind of thing is why we exist. To open the eyes of people who have lived in the dark for so long, they don't know when the wool has been pulled over there closed lids.
I've recently also heard of car companies that will pay your payments for you, etc. etc. etc. Oh sure, I'm buying that. I mean, it's free...it's their gift to you. Trust me, someone is paying for that, somehow. As much as I want people to go out and spend money to get this economy going again, I cannot stand the flim-flam from car manufacturers these days.
We were told that the economy was failing. People stopped spending. The economy is now EXACTLY where the socialist wanted it to be. Really, it was a cunning plan.
And now, it's up to us to stop it or watch your children live their lives under a debt that they will never be able to overcome.

| yep, there is only one place to get money, and that's from other people.
When trade is being done on credit, your just asking for trouble. Now they are banking on prospect, with money that isn't theirs.
